３月１１日、東日本大震災により犠牲となられた全ての方々に対し哀悼の意を表すべく、午後２時４６分に教職員・生徒全員で黙とうを捧げました。
同日は、学校長より朝礼終礼HR・授業において可能な限り東日本大震災に係る活動を、との言及もあり、本校では様々な場面で震災を取り上げた教育活動を行いました。
今回は、高等学校１年生の英語の授業（鈴木太郎教諭）の取り組みを取り上げます。

新聞テレビラジオ、インターネットやソーシャル・メディア(SNS)上の英語では広く、2011 Earthquake and Tsunami in Japanと表現されていること等、東日本大震災を英語でインターネット検索するコツを聞きました。
次に「世界は東日本大震災をどのように視ているのか」をテーマに、一人一台端末（chromebook）で実際に東日本大震災について英語で発信されているインターネット上の情報（報道、ブログ、ソーシャル・メディア(SNS)等）をGoogle検索しながら読み進めました。
続いて、「グローバルな視点から思い巡らす東日本大震災」について英語で、Google検索しながら読み進めた情報をまとめつつ自分なりの考察をGoogle Workspace for Educationスライドやドキュメントを用いてまとめ、Google Workspace for Educationクラスルームで提出しました。

このような取り組みを通じ、生徒が、東日本大震災を自分事としてとらえ防災を自分事として強く考えられるよう、英語を通じ日本の事を広い視野から捉えられるよう、英語を通じ日本について発信できるよう、今後も教育活動に努めて参ります。

I think that the 311 made people realize the importance of cooperating with each other. People even who lived in places that didn’t have earthquakes knew the fierceness. 311 was such a sad incident, but we shouldn’t forget about it. We should cooperate with each other when they are in trouble and appreciate our daily life.

I think the people of TOHOKU were sad about many things, however, they are polite and think about the feelings of other people.

Not only in this case, but if the world has done for Japan, it is only logical that Japan should also return the favor to the world.

Only my own country can’t solve the problem. Because of many disasters in the world, helping each other is very important.

I feel that the world seemed to be impressed by the Japanese people’s willingness to help each other and to move toward reconstruction one after another as they live by helping each other.

I think it is important for us not to forget the threat of this disaster in order not to come about this cruel suffering and damage never again.
